Bangkok – March 14, 2025 – Thai Airways has announced a reduction in the checked baggage allowance for certain economy class ticket types, decreasing the limit from 25 kilograms to 23 kilograms. This change will take effect starting April 1, 2025.
Details of the Adjustment:
This change applies only to Economy Class tickets in fare classes K, S, V, W, and L (Saver and Standard fare families).
It applies to newly issued or reissued tickets from April 1, 2025, onward and is valid for travel starting on that date.
The adjustment applies to both domestic and international routes operated by Thai Airways.
Unaffected Ticket Classes:
Passengers holding other ticket types will retain their current baggage allowances:
Economy Class tickets in fare classes T, Q, H, M, B, Y, N, and X will continue to have a 30-kilogram allowance.
Premium Economy (Economy Plus): 35 kilograms.
Business Class (Royal Silk Class): 40 kilograms.
First Class (Royal First Class): 50 kilograms.
Additionally, Thai Airways will continue to use the Weight Concept for baggage allowance, which is based on total weight rather than the number of pieces, unlike some other airlines.
Additional Notes:
For routes to Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, Economy Class tickets in fare class W will not include a baggage allowance.
Passengers may purchase additional baggage allowance at the applicable rates.
